Biography

Prof Robert Muponde teaches at the School of Literature, Language and Media at Wits University, with a focus on Zimbabwean literature, culture and history, childhood and children's literature, narratives of migration and emerging city cultures, masculinities and father figures, African literature, Caribbean literature, African-American literature. He is the author of several books including: Manning the Nation: Father Figures in Zimbabwean Literature and Society, Versions of Zimbabwe: New Approaches to Literature and Culture, Sign and Taboo: Perspectives on the Poetic Fiction of Yvonne Vera, and No More Plastic Balls: New Voices in the Zimbabwean Short Story.
